I do understand about the name. I know some of the people who are
working on the Fort Lincoln Freedom Fest project which is held at Devalls Bluff,
but I really do not think they would know any more. They are on Facebook.
Plus, there is now a museum there and they are working every day on adding
displays, projects, etc. It is a massive undertaking.
Per chance you have a photo of the men who served/died there, I feel sure they would
love to have a copy. This is being spearheaded by the Arnold Family Foundation.
First of all, the people hired to do this work would not have been the quality that
worried about doing the job right, and second of all, about a million things did
go wrong. So truthfully, the Union dead fared on slightly better than the Confederate dead
did in being moved.
If Bryan Howerton, Doyle Taylor, Mr. Martin, or some of the others on this board,
