Re: Adam Raedels G Co/12 Michigan Inf

Thanks, Linda,

I have looked at Little Rock and Memphis web sites but nothing comes up.

We know from the Roll of Honor that he was identified when he died at DeValls Bluff in late 1864. Whether the grave marker was still intact when the remain were moved in 1866 or later is unknown. We know his brother, John Raedels Jr., was with him at the time so maybe he got a more durable marker than many others.

If you know of another way of accessing the lists from LR or Memphis, I would like to know. The govt web site is not that helpful.

Regards,
Dave

PS - The name "Riddle" is one of the way his name (Raedels) was spelled in those days. Also Reodells, Roedels, Roedles. He was born in Germany and his pronunciation may have affected the way his name was written.
