Thank you all. I appreciate your pointers.

I need to restate that my grandpa did NOT know where his grandpa's brother was buried. He new that he died of wounds received at Elk Horn Tavern, but he had no idea where he was buried. Somewhere in northwest Arkansas was his best guess. Also, my folks didn't talk about it much. I grew up in northeast Missouri. We didn't flaunt our southern heritage. It was frowned on by neighbors, if you know what I mean.

Times have changed. I am aware of my grgrUncle's service and I'm looking for his remains. I sincerely appreciate any help you all might offer. Thank you very much.
