His stone is inscribed Co. H, 1 Ind. Cav. Find-a-Grave gives his dates as b. 1841, d. 22 Oct 1931. Other sources give his dates as b. 1844, d. 17 Feb 1875. Since his wife married J. Claudius Gibson in 1876, the 1875 death date is undoubtedly correct. The Historical Data Systems gives George’s Indiana information along with his hometown as Pine Bluff, just like John.
