The 1st Indiana Cavalry campaigned in Arkansas from the end of 1862 through 1865, and I believe that they were at Pine Bluff for awhile, so it's sure a possibility that John W. Harris joined them after taking the oath of allegiance. At least the time and place afforded that opportunity. It's just a matter of finding some detail in the record of the man in the 1st Indiana Cavalry that can connect the two. Keep us posted, Lynn.
