Wow!!!! Thanks for your input and the link for the flag, apparently located at the Old State House Museum in Little Rock....!!!!!!!

I sent two emails to the OSHM staff earlier this afternoon asking for some more details, provenience, documentation, etc. re the flag. I do agree with Anthony that this does seem almost too good to be true, but.......we shall see...

I did find out that Wilson Polk Wallace (member of 17th and 11th/17th Ark.) was apparently surrendered at Port Hudson, so it seems that at least some members of the unit were part of the Port Hudson garrison.....??
