Hello George, Yes you are correct some of their records are listed with the fifty-fourth and various other units. I am looking for a John Rains of Company I of the 55th Alabama. I'd be willingly to bet that he shows up on mirco-film records at NARA but his name is not found on www.fold3.com. And there are many soldiers like this who show up on the micro-film records but do not show up on fold 3. I'll be back in DC within a month or so and from my experience I'll find him on the micro-film records. As always George thanks for your feedback I'm just a real big fan of fold 3 although it's better than nothing.
