Dupree's Independent Cavalry Company sometimes served as Co. D of Armistead's 12th Miss. and Alabama Cav. (later renamed the 16th Confederate Cav. and then the 12th Miss. Cav.) Dupree's Company was made up primarily of men from Pickens Co.

Dave, I had not found that Co. K had Pickens County men it it. This is important news to me, as I am writing a book about Pickens County Civil War soldiers/vets. How were you able to determine this?
