I only have service records of Dick, Bosdali M., Alexander M., and Calvin J. Hanks in Pickens County, so far. However, I have not yet uncovered all the soldiers of Pickens County and your man may yet surface. In particular, I am just now researching the records of the 63rd Alabama Infantry. It is also very possible that he may have joined in a bordering county to Pickens. I'll take a look for him in Broadfoot's index next time I have an opportunity.
