Hayes Lowe41stSat Mar 31 10:34:30 2001 Maybe George Wright has more info on this, but this is the first that I've heard of any of it.I do know of some accounts of members of the 41st being left by the roadside with sickness and wounds. A tent would be pitched for them, and they were left behind to heal or die. Perhaps this is the real basis of this story. These accounts were from early in the history of the 41st (while still with the Orphan Brigade, if I recall correctly). Keep in mind that many men of the 41st died of an epidemic in Tuscaloosa, before it ever left camp. Perhaps some of the regiment was still suffering from this illness (or the weakened condition caused by it) when sent to Tennessee.41st Ala Homer Jones, Sat Mar 31 15:53 Sam Watkins Lee White, Mon Apr 2 17:52 Re: Sam Watkins Alan J.
