mollie walton guards & officer higgins

Just for clarity sake for people reading this board. It should be noted that the "mollie walton guards" were formed
in Limestone County at Cambridge church(still standing) off
Cambridge Lane. They were to become Co. D of the 35th Alabama Infantry. Mollie Walton was an eccentric old lady
from the town of Mooresville that paid for the uniforms.
She was known for generosity. See "Lure and Lore of Limestone County"

Higgins officer - The only Higgins officer I know from the
Tennesee Valley is Col. Hiram H. Higgins who formed the
company "The Confederate Bricks". Higgins was an Athens,Al
architect. They were Co. ? , 54th Alabama Infantry, formerly a company in the 40th Tennessee Infantry.
