My ancestor was Benjamin Franklin Camper. He surrendered with the consolidated 27th Ala. Inf. Regt. at Greensboro NC. I have the book you mention but obviously haven't read it because I thought it was mainly concerned with the 9th Ala. Inf. Regt. I've made a number of notes from Goodloe's book. He must've written a number of articles for national periodicals in the 1880's. If you have an opportunity to find Cozzens book, 'The Darkest Days of the War,' look at the passage about Rust's Brigade and its capture of 'Lady Richardson' on Oct. 3rd 1862. The footnotes indicate that Goodloe and another 35th Ala. veteran wrote about this incident in an article rather than in Goodloe's book.

I'll have to revisit the Sowell site and look for the one that mentions Goodloe. My ancestor is buried at Madison in a family cemetery. Thanks again.
