Here is the source of the W.H. Claiborne papers that I cited. "Private Diary, Capt. W.H Claiborne, Reynolds Brigade, Stevensons Division, Army of Tennessee," 23 March to 7 May 1864, in John Francis Hamtramck Claiborne Papers, Manuscripts Division, Library of Congress, Washington, DC. I transcribed certain limited portions of those papers, so there is no overall transcription. I understand the challenge of reading W.H. Claiborne's handwriting. I had to magnify the diary pages substantially to make them legible.

The John F.H. Claiborne Papers in the Library of Congress Manuscript Division are described in: John R. Sellers, Civil War Manuscripts, A Guide to Collections in the Manuscript Division of the Library of Congress, item 174, pp. 48-49, as including not only the W.H. Claiborne diary, but also Claiborne's correspondence with Reynolds and orders and returns for Reynolds' Brigade in the Chattanooga and Atlanta campaigns. It seems to me that there was also material there from the Vicksburg campaign. In any case, my notes indicate that the John F.H. Claiborne Papers, including the W.H. Claiborne material, are on two microfilm rolls that could be obtained on interlibrary loan from the Library of Congress.
