Re pictures, no they did not. In the main, their official Confederate Army service data consists only of what is found on their bimonthly muster reports.
These only contain the date and place of enlistment, and in some cases age of enlistment. Later, in some cases, absences, and discharge certificates.
All other data is from other sources such as Union POW reports, hospital records, parole certificates, etc.
