That is possible. You didn't find anything about Richard Clement Hancock (his son)? I'd have to check his birth date but how many Benjamin Hancocks could there be in Crockett County at that time? Is there some way of getting a copy of their service records? Did they take pictures of the soldiers back then like they do now?
