Bois d'arc is indeed a versatile wood. Of course, the Indians used it to make bows to shoot arrows.

Bois d'arc was/is used in building fence, especially the corner posts that are usually made of larger, stronger posts. Also if every year a few Bois d'arc fruits (i.e., Osage oranges) are tossed into in the attic, one will not have to worry about spiders and bugs collecting.
