Hi:

I do not have any further information for your Zedler/Zellner search but I am helping a lady find her ancestor, William Madison Williams, who resided in Sonoma County, CA during the Civil War.

Wm. Madison Williams was about 50 years old and most likely signed up with the Union Army during the War. I find three by the name of William Williams who might be him? All three survived the War and most likely returned home. Family suggest he died just after the War but they do not know where he is buried.

Do you have any C.W. Vets. in the Santa Rosa Cemetery there who might be him?? He was born 1808-1810 and died probably 1868-70. I know this is vague but he is on the 1850 Census residing north of St. Helena. We have checked the St. Helena Cem. records but no record of him.

This is probably not the proper venue to discuss this so I have provided my -PC- below. Any help appreciated.
