Been talking to Frank Johnson of the Granbury TX Brigade. He and now we both see we barking up the wrong tree and Zedler and Zellner are two different cats. Ours was probably always Ferdinand Frederick Zellner, 1831-1919. Prof of Music -violin and citizen of Fayetteville AR in 1856 and wrote and published Fayetteville Polka. Gone to AR Civil War message board now to see if we can find any evidence he was CSA vet. NO NARA record.
