24th TX Cav , Co K.

After many years of trying to find a man's CSA record who is in our old cemetery and who appears in local old records as being a CSA vet, we find his last name in the war records and here locally were different. His CSA name was Ferdinand Frederick Zedler, 1831-1919, Buglar in and Musician out in the 24th , Co K. Local name was Zellner. Assume he stayed until end of war at Durham Station, N.C. in the then Granbury's Consolidated Brigade. We have stories here about him locally (music teacher) and seek further information about him during the war. Any help appreciated.

I am the long time Civil War specialist in the old cemetery here in Santa Rosa, CA., and keep files of personal information on all 166 vets including now 16 CSA.
