An interesting footnote is that 24-year-old 2d. Lt. Lafayette Livingston Bailey mentioned throughout the previous threads joined the Regiment (Capt. N. C. Gould's Co., Mtd. Texas Vols., Forrest's Reg't, Mtd. Vols.) on 13 Sept 1861 at Clarksville, Red River, Texas along with his younger brother, 21-year-old Cpl John W. Bailey. Both brothers were captured at Fort Donelson.
