I would assume Jacob is a relative of Isaac who deserted soon after Isaac. Jacob filed for a Confederate pension from Tennessee. It would be interesting to review his pension papers which might reveal both these men's subsequent service, if any. Also, if Jacob's application was accepted.

Hunt for 12 months, captured at Fort Donelson February 16, 1862, transferred to Camp Morton, Indiana prison camp, sent to Vicksburg, Miss. for exchange August 28, 1862, recorded as having deserted November 13, 1863 near Chattanooga, repeated on the Jan/Feb, 1864 muster roll

Note: The last bi-monthly company muster roll on record is for the period July & August, 1864. Since neither men is recorded we may assume they had not returned to the regiment by this time.
