Confederate Conscripts in East Tennessee ?

Would anyone know where they would have trained ? Would they have even received any ? " Reluctant Rebels " in east Tennessee weren't real popular in Richmond ! I've been able to detail pretty closely my North Carolina 2nd great-grandpa's service. He was a 39 year-old conscript when he reported to Camp Vance in Morganton, NC Feb.14, 1864. I even have his " Drill-Master's " name. On March 28, 1864 he's receipted for " clothing " By April, he's answering the roll in Virginia. He's promoted to Corporal in 1864. Captured April 2, 1865. He apparently made in pretty good soldier.

With my 2nd great-grandpa in east Tennessee, who was a year younger, it's a different story. No record of enlistment . No receipt for clothing. Only his name on the roll of Company B 19th TN Infantry. He was captured July 3, 1963 at Cowan, TN. I believe the 19th was part of the rear guard protecting the retreating Army of Tennessee. No prison record. No record of his taking the Oath and agreeing to stay " north of the Ohio " He managed to make it home and lived till 1906. Would the " reluctant " ones have been rounded up and put on a train in Bristol or maybe Knoxville and sent directly to front ? Maybe trained for awhile in Knoxville ?

Since posting I've found Knoxville was a Confederate training camp. I'm still curious as to why there's no record of him being there ?
