Thanks for the info Frederick! I remember reading about the Mickler brothers in my copy of “Arab,” which is a very interesting and informative little book. It can be seen online now at http://archive.org/details/autobiographyofa00hend. After first reading the story of Huger being buried at Greenwood Church a couple of years ago, I asked a friend of mine, who lives in northeastern Virginia, if he knew the location of that old church, but he didn’t. I wanted to try to find out myself if there was a grave marker for him. Congratulations on finding the location of the church. It’s a shame his grave isn’t marked.

I have a friend from Florida who is a descendent of a Capt. Thomas M. Mickler of the 10th FL Infantry, Company D. I guess there’s a strong possibility he and your Micklers were related. Perhaps that’s why William A. settled in Florida after the war. Thanks again for sharing the info about the your ancestors!
