It's a small world. My father's only brother was a combat engineer and he was KIA on 7 April 1945 in Germany. And McDowall County was named after my 4th g-uncle, Joseph McDowell. I have visited the county twice and become a little familiar with it. It is in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hunting John McDowell (my 5th g-grandfather) and Col.
