Here is the URL to the web site showing the back of his wife's pension application of 1916. It is witnessed and approved by people who knew her -- and who also were required, I am sure, to consult the Rebel archives in Washington. (I have seen correspondence between Washington and the county's Chancery Clerk and Board of Inquiry when a man's service was in question.)
