Re: Salathiel Smith Co. H 3rd Miss. Inf.

Ron, on the 1870 census he is found living in Pass Christian, age 45, a carpenter, with Clementine, age 32. He lists real property at $250, but lists no personal property. Living in the household are 7 children ages 1 month through 16 years. Also in the household is a 5 year old male mulatto named Victor Babin.
In 1880 he is living in Mississippi City, age 56, a carpenter, with Clementine, age 40. There are 5 children living at home ages 5 through 20, the eldest being a son named Lovan (possibly Lovance) who is also a carpenter.
I could not find him on the 1900 census, but will keep looking.
On the 1910 census there is a S. Smith, age 91, widower, who is an inmate at "Soldiers Home" in Mississippi City, father's birthplace - Scotland, mother's birthplace - England.
