My family once owned the plantation next to the Davis'. It was called "Orsino" and I have a pic of the plantation home with my great grandfather standing on the steps. Of course, the flood of 1927 wiped the home, etc. off the map. My family also owned Yucatan Island for several generations, and we still own Karnac, Panola, and High Hills Plantations across the River from Yucatan. The High Hills property has a Confederate artillery 4-gun battery on a ridge overlooking the Big Black that I metal detect following deer season.
