It is very possible that the two Hiram A. Box's are the same. I have a copy of his Resignation, but was very hard to read. What I got out of it he requested to transfer to some other service because he had been in the Infantry for three years. His request was approved by his chain of command. Now it seems he spent the rest of the war in the 12th Cavalry. Thanks
