Thank you! Thought so. Bet the J. was for James. Some of my ancestors were Reeves from South Carolina, just not sure where.
My gg grandmother was a Reeves and there were double first cousins to my Harper kin who had come out of Belfast, Ireland. Many of the
Reeves that had intermarried with the Harpers went on to Bond County, Illinois after having being in Tenn. However, mine turned around
and headed back to Tenn. James Stirling Harper was my gg grandfather being a blacksmith in Cookville, Tenn.
Is anyone actually related to the Reeves man?
I appreciate the input.
