Maybe I'm missing some of his records, the ones I've viewed state he was a resident of Panola County and do not note where he enlisted.

The 1860 Federal Census does note Reuben Hall in Lafayette County, Post Office Paris, which would place him close to Panola County and it was not unusual to find soldiers enlisting in units in neighboring counties.
