40th MS Inf - Iuka

In an ongoing effort to identify as many of the reported 263 otherwise unidentified Confederate soldiers buried in a mass grave at Shady Grove cemetery (Iuka) following the Battle of Iuka (19-20 Sept 1862), the following list has been compiled from a variety of sources representing casualties within the 40th Mississippi Infantry Regiment.

If you have further information on these men, or others in this regiment, please post a follow up.

These men may or may not be buried in the mass Confederate grave. Any additional information is appreciated.
