It's strange both Milford Sanders are in the same area: Reynolds Co., Pocahontas Arkansas, Pilot Knob, Missouri and recruiting in southeast Missouri. The last time he was paid by the 15th Missouri Cav. CSA was on April 31, 1863. He was reported absent (recruiting) for the 15th Mo. Cav. CSA from August 1863 until Feb. 1864 and never seems to be a part of the 15th Missouri Cavalry again. I think he was captured while recruiting in southeast Mo. and forced (ask) to join the 2nd Colorado Cavalry in Pilot Knob, Mo. There were other confederates in southeast Missouri that this very same thing happen to. There are three death dates given for Milford Sanders, 1866, 1879, and 1925, but no one knows at this time where he's buried. He mustered out in 1865 at Leavenworth, Kansas and one rumor says he was killed in 1866 in Farley, Mo, which is not far from Leavenworth, Kansas.
