Thanks for the good information, at the time I first wrote my chapter of De Golyer's Battery in Missouri I had only his account of the incident. Recently I came across a book publish in 2011 title The Story of my Campaign. The Civil War Memoir of Capitan Francis T. Moore. Second Illinois Cavalry; Edited by Thomas Bahde; Northern Illinois University Press, in which the incident was also written about, naming the officer shot by De Golyer as only Captain Davis. The book has a number of interesting stories pertaining to guerilla activities in Missouri. In the book Moore relates The next day the pursuers left Weaverville to Clarkston ... The Little River I think he may had meant instead of Weaverville (Carutherville, MO) then onto the Little River? Thanks again
