Missouri Home Guards who enlisted at Versailles, Missouri in 1861
(The early units were for protection of the local communities.)

The Leader is under obligation to Jasper Scroggins, who was assisted by Wes Hays, Wm. Dudley, and Jesse B. Jones in remembering the names, for the following list – members of Captain Sam Livingston’s Company of Missouri Home Guards.
The Company was organized by the election of the following officers:
