Re: Pacific City, MO (AKA Syracuse)

Willliam Joseph Thruston was the KIA at Elkhorn Tavern, ARK, 1862, same tombstone at the Versailles, MO, Cemetery as his brother Josiah Walton Thruston. The boys are the half nephew of Henry Clay Thruston, son of Dr. John Beverly Thruston of Versailles.

These are the Thrustons/Thurstons who served and are mentioned in county information: The page numbers refer to the Morgan County History books Vol. I and II, published by the Morgan County Historical Society.
Thruston, Henry Clay 382
Thruston, James
Thurston, Josiah Walton (15 yrs. Old at time of his death-POW at Vicksburg, MS)
Thurston, Joseph S.- maybe Union
Thurston, Sidney
Thurston, William Joseph KIA at Elkhorn Tavern, Pea Ridge ARK, 1862. Buried at Versailles Cem. (his body being here is questionable, due to time between death and retrieval from mass grave in front of Elk Horn Tavern at Pea Ridge.)

In cemetery records we have 17 of one spelling 19 of the other, so we are not certain which is correct.
