I believe, from my research of newspapers and other records, they there were 25 Union soldiers killed by Anderson.
There were two survivors, Sgt Goodman(who has a marked grave at Jefferson Barracks, bu, who survived and is buried in CA) and an eyewitness account of another unnamed soldier outsmarting one of the guerillas and escaping on his horse.
One account states that 23 bodies were left lying by the tracks and one was not a soldier,leaving 22 soldiers to be accounted for. I have reference sources and 22 names and will be glad to share what I have.
