Lindsey Peyton was born about 1821 in Kentucky locating to Chariton Twsp Howard Co. MO between 1845 and 1850. He married Amanda Hume in KY in 1838. He had several children 2 of which were Reuben Peyton (b 1844 with a twin sister Sallie A.) and Christopher "Kit" born 1848. There is another son John G. listed in the 1850 and 1860 census.

He is in Glasgow Mo in the 1860 census and returns to Howard Co post war, farming in the 1870 and 1880 census with Reuben.
