Thanks to both of you. We live in the St. Louis area and I have located the SCV website. I'll send an email to the "commander" of that group and ask for suggestions before setting an appointment with the administrator at Jefferson Barracks. It might be that we can get the data base changed to the correct spelling and have a plaque attached to the original marker that contains the proper information. George A. was SO adamant about his support for the CSA that it cost him his life. We'd like his service to be honored.
