The Missouri in the Civil War Message Board

John A. Simpson

I have been trying to track down my GGG grandfather that fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War. At the time he was living in Mt. Vernon, MO. I was told by a distant relative that he died in 1865 in Randolph Co., AR. He had a half-brother that fought for Confederacy in Oregon Co., MO. He may have traveled from Lawrence Co., MO. to Oregon Co., MO. to join with brother then on to AR. but I'm only guessing. My GGG grandfather's name is John Anderson Simpson and his half-brother was David G. Simpson. Can you help me find his regiment? I believe it's Fristoe's or Ford's Bn.
Thanks!
Shelia
