William R. Peck - Court of Inquiry

While at the recent Mike Kent Civil War Show in Franklin, TN, I ran across a document that set me back, so to speak. It was in possession of a very reputable dealer and I have no reason to doubt its authenticity. The document was described as an "opinion" of a court of inquiry dealing with a charge of desertion by William R. Peck of the 9th La. Infantry. The advertisement stated it was signed by several notable people including Robert E. Lee and that the finding of the inquiry was to let Peck return to his command in spite of the charge as they could ill afford to lose officers at this point. Now I was not able to read the very large document and they also told me that they had not transcribed it nor would they. Being that it was priced at $7,500.... it was a bit out of my curiosity range. I do not even know what the date was on the document. They do not have a website. I checked Peck's CSR on Fold 3......of course, this was just his 9th La CSR and he probably has one as a staff officer as well but there was absolutely NOTHING in there about any supposed incident and his record appeared spotless. Does anyone have any further knowledge of this event or could direct me to where more information is located without shelling out $7500? Since Peck was elevated to the rank of Brigadier General at a very late date, not to mention commanding the La. Brigade a great deal toward the end, whatever this was about evidently did not tarnish his reputation. Thanks.
