For a quick but good summary of the 2nd LA Cavalry, look at the section on the 2nd LA Cavalrty in Art Bergeron's excellent reference book on Louisiana Confererate units. I believe you need to look at approximately page 43.

I think you will find enough here to help you with an introduction. Also, I would greatly appreciate anything you or the family can provide in the way of soldier information and service record on Ovide Landry. I am compiling all the data I can on the 2nd and its troopers and I plan to ultimately place all of my files on the 2nd LA Cavalry in the Archives at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches (in a few years).
