This Sunday, June 10 at 2:00 pm, the Mouton Camp 778, Sons of Confederate Veterans, of Opelousas, will hold a memorial service for Pvt. Ovide Guidry of Co A, 2d La Cav. The Camp recently restored his tomb at the St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau and in conjunction with Guidry's family, would like to honor him and his service. This is a public invite and we are especially in need of uniforms and/or muskets for a color and honor guard.

I would also like to ask for info on the 2d La Cav as I wish to say a few words about the unit during the service. Any info, or where to find it, would be appreciated.
