Don't know if it matters, but the steamer C. F. Dix that is mentioned in the second article is actually the Edward F. Dix. She snagged on top of the sunken USS Eastport and sank not long after this. She remains there to this day, near Montgomery, La., her wreckage intermingled with the Eastport wreckage.
