Howdy:

A few years ago I wrote up a brief note (for my files) on the GPS location of the USS Eastport and Edward F. Dix sunk in Red River south of Montgomery. I filed this away, thinking I might add it someday to the website: civilwaralbum.com . Since then, I have been blogging mostly in the Indian Territory board of this forum.

I have just scanned this Louisiana board and find little on the specifics of the location of the Eastport and E. F. Dix. Is this shipwreck site considered in Louisiana to be only honored, but not visited??

I am about to "retire" again, was cleaning out my files, and did not want to post something (the GPS location of the shipwreck) here that was considered too revered to post. I look forward to some thoughtful guidance on this data.
