Hi. I am researching Col. Taylor's Regiment for a study on G. T. Anderson's Brigade. At the time that the 1st Kentucky first joined the brigade (around 7 August 1861) it was Sam Jones' Brigade. Jones' stayed only a short time before D. R. Jones assumed command. He, too, stayed only a few months and G. T. Anderson assumed acting command until he was promoted to Brig. Gen. around the time of the Battle of Fredericksburg.

I do have some newspaper accounts on the regiment while it was with Anderson's Brigade to include some on the Battle of Drainesville in which the regiment took part. Contact me if interested. You help me and I will help you.
