You have intrigued me as to the inclusion of African Americans in Morgans Commad. I have done a great deal of reading and followed a few of his raids in vehicle and foot (got stopped by the KY State Police once for having the wrong license plate for that area - No Citation) had to explain myself.
What you say is interesting. Do you have , other than the "history Channel" , proof???
If it is of any interest I got kicked outa the court house around Springfield KY.once (once was all that was needed). What a great time. Morgan had moved thru there and burned all the records (to keep people from being arrested later on if,IF per chance the south lost), I walked up to the counter and asked a woman , whom at the time seemed old enough to have rolled bandages during the war, and asked if per chance any records survived. I made the stupid remark that my ancestor rode with Morgan. Things went down hill from there!!! She said "That Horse Thief" Morgan burned all MY records and that I should leave out the door I came in. Union Lady I assumed, Two big guys at the counter, who knew her by name kinda made sure I left. Didn't touch me but leaving was my only choice.
What a great time, as soon as my car started.
Anywho , as many rascals as Morgan had in his command, Champ Ferguson and such I have to believe that Black Troopers may have also been included. But I'll be up front - I need more proof than the "History Channel". -EH?
