Manny,
From Gen. Cabell's report found in OR list the following; Cols. Morgan's, J C Monroe's, Lee L Thomson's and J F Hill's Cavalry Regts. J L Witherspoon's, W A Crawford's and Woolsey's Cav. Battln.T W Barry's Co. Mo. Cav. and Hughley's Battery of 4- 6 pounders. About 2500 effective soldiers.
He noted that most of the soldiers in Hill's, Thomson's and Morgan's ran from the battlefield.
(Hill's Regt. was made up of mostly deserters and jayharkers he had picked up along the way.)
When they ran they went through the provost guard and 80 prisoners ran away with them.
He withdrew after lossing about 70 killed, wounded or captured and the deserters he withdrew with about 900 soldiers.
From Col Cloud's report he had the 2nd Kansas the 6 Mo, Cav. Regts. and part of Rabb's Battery 2nd Ind.
Arty.
The 1st Ark (USA) and 2 sections of Rabb's Batty. had gone to Ft Smith with Maj.Gen. Blunt and his staff.
Mike
