Re: Kingston, GA surrender, May 12-20, 1865

Wanted to pass this on to you. My Great Great Grandfather surrendered at Kingston, Ga on May 12th 1865. His name is A.M. Vick (Abner Milton Vick). I have all documentation in which to back it up. He was
with the 4th Georgia Cav. Co.B.. Company CO was Caption May. Also with him at the time was E.T.Foote & C.H Foote . Companies B & G remained in North GA in and around Tryon Factory and ordered do
do so by General Wheeler. Company B was made up of volunteers from Ellijay Ga.. A.M. Vick hooked up with the 4th Ga Cav. around January 1863 near Fayetteville Tenn. on the Elk River. He was from
Nashville. He died on January 7th 1923. Date of birth was May 27 1840. He is buried at Flat Creek Baptist Church in Ellijay, Ga on Hwy 382 South of Carters Lake.
