Greg, sorry I offered to help find the information and particularly sorry I referred you to a site that has a post about Wikipedia. The only post I referred to was Virgil's because it was about the 44th flag in question. The first post in the thread had nothing to do with our discussion.

I appreciate your concern that I be careful of my sources, but just like Virgil, I really didn't see a need to remind you that there are many opinions that change when the facts finally come out.

You might remember the 7th Miss. flag at the Tennessee State Museum that Virgil, Jamie Roberts, and I confirmed was the 7th Regt. not the 7th Battn. Our friend Chuck McMains , also a part of our research team, donated family foundation money to have that flag restored, and it is now proudly displayed and identified for all to see.

Our research started with a book that printed Our flag as that of the 7th Miss. Battn. That book is no different than a message board with questionable citations once the facts were known.

At the time it was settled fact, until we found a primary source. Being right is sometimes not as important as actually getting it right. Once the facts were all fleshed out, that respected source realized their error, but it took "a While".

Let's see where this goes and get everybody on the same mission.
