I agree with you.

The two great Causes of the War, in my opinion, were to preserve the union of states (northern stated cause) as opposed to the Southern Cause of self determination (Independence). Both were Constitutional Issues. The real sad part of it all was that the Constitution was destroyed in its original interpretation and we have what we have today where dictators rules from a central government that we do not now elect.

However as a believer I also see how what resulted from this change how it effected world politics to bring about our present day.
